I’ve read conversations comparing Hyori and Jessica Alba, something similar to earlier comparisons between BoA and the pre-Federline Britney Spears. BoA and Britney did actually meet a while back but the commercial shoot of Jessica Alba and Hyori last year was something I saw recently, thanks to the power of Youtube.
Both ladies were in my P17 for 2003 with Hyori in no.4 and Jessica in no.5.
Edit: After writing this entry, I found out that today is Lee Hyori’s birthday. Happy Birthday Hyori!
I’ve been following women’s figure skating since the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah when Sarah Hughes won the olympic gold. But after my favorite skaters — Sara Hughes retired and Sasha Cohen kept getting injured, I stopped following figure skating, until I saw Mao Asada. I thought she was an amazing skater when I first saw her and after looking her up, I was sooo right. She’s a skating champion in Japan, and a popular one too.
But Mao wouldn’t win in the International competitions at first, though she won the Grand Prix Finals that took place in Japan, afterwards she only placed 3rd in Skate America, 2nd in the Worlds, and 2nd in the following Grand Prix. One year later though, Mao won Skate Canada and the Four Continents but remained at 2nd place in the Grand Prix behind my other favorite skater, Yu-na Kim.
This week in MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, the groups had to pay homage to Michael Jackson’s Thriller album. And as always, Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern killed.
